Surya Sadhana
Sun is the significant form of life, intensity, aura, strength, eyes, soul and mind…..
Sadhaks desirous of accomplishing this Sadhana should take bath early in the morning before sunrise, on Makar Sankranti, or any Sunday or on an auspicious-muhurath occasion. Thereafter, adorning red colored clothes, sit on a red asana facing East. Spread red cloth on a wooden board in front of you. First setup Guru Picture/ Statue/Yantra/Paduka and meditate on the divine form of Gurudev Nikhil with folded hands –
GururBrahmaa GururVishnuH Gururdevo MaheshwaraH |
GuruH Saakshaat Par Brahmaa Tasmei Shree Guruve NamaH ||
Bathe the Guru Picture / Statue/ Yantra / Paduka with water after Nikhil meditation –
Om Nikhilam Snaanam Samarpayaami ||
Then wipe with a clean cloth. Perform Panchopchaar worship-poojan with Kumkum (Vermilion), Akshat (Unbroken rice), Pushpa (Flowers), Neivedh (Sweets/Fruit offering), Dhoop (Incense) – Deep (Lamp); chanting following mantras –
Om Nikhilam Kumkum Samarpayaami |
Om Nikhilam Akshtaan Samarpayaami ||
Om Nikhilam Pushpam Samarpayaami ||
Om Nikhilam Neivedhyam Nivedayaami ||
Om Nikhilam Dhoopam Aardhyaapayaami, Deepam Darshayaami ||
(Show Dhoop, Deep)
Now rotate three Achmaani (spoonful) water around the Guru Picture / Statue/ Yantra / Paduka and drop it on ground. Then chant 1 rosary-round of Guru Mantra with Guru Mala –
Om Param Tatvaaya Naaraayanaaya Gurubhayo Namah
After completing Guru worship, perform the main Surya Sadhana-worship in the following way-
Setup Surya Yantra on a copper plate in front of Guru picture on this wooden board. Thereafter offer Ardhya of water mixed with Kumkum in a lota (pot) on “Surya Yantra” chanting following Mantra, whilest remaining seated on the asana.
Aehi Suryadeva Sahastraansho Tejo Raashi Jagatpate |
Anukampaya Maam Bhaktyaa Grihanaardhya DeevakaraH ||
Sooryaaya NamaH Aadityaaya NamaH
Namo Bhaaskaraaya NamaH Ardhyam Samarpayaami |
After offering Ardhya to Surya Yantra, wipe the Yantra with a clean cloth and offer Kumkum (vermilion) , Akshat (unbroken rice) and Pushpa (flowers) etc. Show Deepak (lamp) and Dhoop (incense) to Surya Yantra.
Thereafter, with folded hands, pray to Sun God with full devotion and faith –
Aadityasya Namaskaaram Ye Kurvanti Dine Dine |
Janmaantara Sahastreshu Daaridrayam Nopajaayate ||
Mentally pray to Sun God to provide boons through His infinite energy to liberate from misfortune, poverty and sin-anger-rage on this special day (When Sun God is willing to imbibe within the mind and body of the Sadhak through Sadhana) .
Thereafter chant five mala (rosary-rounds) of following Mantra with Surya Mala –
Mantra
|| Om Hreem Hreem Kleem Hreem Hreem Om ||
After completion of Mantra chanting, offer water, Akshat rice, Kumkum and flower-petals on Yantra as if offering Ardhya to Sun God. Immerse the Yantra and Mala at a holy place in the evening.
As fire is produced by focusing Sun rays through a lens, similarly the fire produced by the chanting of above Mantra consumes the deficiencies in Sadhak’s life.
This intense Tantra prayog-practice of Surya Sadhana is really the initial step towards building good fortune in life.
