Divine Flow of Energy
Yantra and Praana-Pratishthaa (Enlivenment)
Everyone know that all materials in the world are composed of five basic elements – water, fire, air, earth and sky. Similarly, the Yantras are also constructed with five elements. The general public is curious about the complex geometrical shapes on the Yantra. Some lines, triangles, quadrilaterals and circles are drawn on it. What is their real significance? Only very few people know about its importance. Will any shape drawn by any mathematician, artist or student on a metal will make it a Yantra.
The literal meaning of the word Yantra is – machine, which is used to perform a specific action. But it is also important to understand about the operator-controller of the machine. Any good machine or Yantra is completely useless if its operator is unwise or incapable. Similarly anyone can draw shapes on a Yantra. However, then these Yantras are nothing more than some pieces of metal with some lines drawn on them.
A Yantra is a simple piece of metal until a special process is performed on the drawn lines, triangles, squares and circles. The specific process of Praana-Pratishthaa imparts life to these metallic shapes. It becomes a living reflection of the divine energy, whose shape is drawn on that Yantra. You should note that the shapes are different on each Yantra – Kali Yantra, Lakshmi Yantra, Baglamukhi Yantra, Shree Yantra, Ganpati Yantra, Shiva Yantra or Bheirav Yantra. The lines, dots and metallic shapes become activated and attain the divine reflection of the Gods-Goddesses, after Praana-Pratishthaa by capable Guru. You cannot perform Sadhana in front of thousands of Shiva forms, we can obtain the real form of Lord Shiva only through Shiva Yantra. The divine essence of Lord Shiva is present in that Shiva Yantra, because Guru has consecrated and sanctified that Shiva Yantra through special mantras and specific processes. Thus the specific Yantra attains the form of Lord Shiva, Mother Kali, Mother Mahavidhya, Shree Yantra or Mother Lakshmi.
Sadhana starts with the Praana-Pratishthaa of Yantra by Gurudev, followed by proper setting-up of that special Yantra, Guru-poojan, and appropriate Mantra chanting in front of that Yantra with a specific mala-rosary.
You should always remember that you are not just offering Mouli, Kumkum, Akshat, Dhoop, Deep on the Yantra, rather you are offering it directly to that divine God-Goddess. This enlivening occurs after the Praana-Pratishthaa process.
You should remember that all machines-tools operate only after receiving a specific energy. Any Yantra or machine cannot run on its own in absence of energy. Similarly the Yantra gets activated and becomes operational after receiving the divine energy from Gurudev.
You should always setup the Yantras which are Praana-Pratishthit by Gurudev, and you should perform Sadhana in front of such Yantras. You know that Sadhanas require a tremendous force and energy from you. Do not waste your strength or energy. Similarly Guru has to imbibe His own Divine energy in Praana-Pratishthit of each Yantra, so you should use the correct combination of your power and Guru’s energy.
