Dialogue with loved ones
Dear disciple,
Blessings!
Recently, we have celebrated Diwali – the festival of lights. I am happy to note that unlike others my disciples have celebrated Diwali spiritually by performing Sadhanas. When the festival time comes we send festival greetings to our outstation friends and family members. With much warmth and happiness, I acknowledge your greetings. The mutual exchange of happy vibes and greetings energize us. That inspires us to stay focused on our work.
Few of us know the deeper meaning of Diwali. That’s why we feel earning Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings will ensure an uninterrupted flow of wealth in our life. The fact is wealth is an outcome of our actions. When we advance to greater heights in our careers, wealth follows us. However, wealth alone will not ensure happiness in our life. It has to be aligned with our quest to the attainment of truth and knowledge, which has been the aspiration of our ancestors and gets immortalised in these words:
God! Keep me not in the unreality (of the bondage of the phenomenal world), but lead me towards the reality (of the eternal self)
God! Keep me not in the darkness (of ignorance), but lead me towards the light (of spiritual knowledge)
God! Keep me not in the (fear of) death (due to the bondage of the mortal world), but lead me towards the immortality (gained by the knowledge of the immortal self beyond
The objective of our life is to move from the darkness to the light. Ignorance is the darkness of our life. As we immerse ourselves in the wisdom of the Guru’s words we are able to shun ignorance.
Diwali symbolises our quest for the virtues, such as knowledge, truth, purity, and, love. Though the festival is over we can keep the spirit alive in our actions. Keep renewing the bonds of affection with your friends, family, brothers especially Guru brothers. I sincerely wish the happiness which illuminates your face on this festival should last year-round.
Why do you look for happiness externally? It resides in your hearts. Sometimes sadness will overwhelm you. These are the times when you should meet the Guru and perform the sadhanas. Sadhanas are the means through which the sunshine of the divine joy will touch your hearts and the darkness lying within your soul will evaporate. I bless you all with everlasting happiness!
I understand that loneliness envelops your heart at times. I am privy to your pain. When that pain starts engulfing your heart it saddens you. In all such dark moments, you should think about the Guru.
I am ALWAYS with you in your hearts as the light of knowledge. The knowledge is not limited to the study of scriptures and religious texts. Instead, it is realising the ultimate truth that you are an embodiment of the divine.
I am happy to see that you have accorded the topmost priority to work in your life. You are constantly learning and applying those learnings to your personal and professional life. However, in the moments of despair, you should take refuge in the warmth and the light of the Guru’s knowledge in your hearts. All your ignorance will dispel when you start counting the blessings of your life. The topmost are your friends, family and the Guru. The next is a healthy body and a healthy mind, which will help you attain greater heights in your life. There is a caveat though:
You have to be on the side of truth and auspiciousness and constantly the prayer enshrined in the Rig Veda.
May we hear with our ears what is auspicious
May we see with our eyes what is auspicious and adorable
May we be prayerful (in life) with steadiness in our bodies (and minds)
May we offer our lifespan allotted by the Devas (for the service of God).
I know you are pure in your thoughts and actions. You are truthful in your heart and have embarked on a journey of love and hope. However, the path is not so easy as it sounds. There will be times when you will feel that your values are no longer relevant in today’s world.
In such moments of despair think of meeting with your Guru. Always remember the whole world wants to cut you down to size, whereas the Guru will always inspire you. However, there will be times when meeting personally with the Guru will not be feasible. Yet, you can dwell on the teachings of your Guru. Introspect on the thoughts of the Guru. The teachings of the Guru are like a fire. They will demolish all sorts of negativity and you can discern the profoundness of your life’s values – the greatness of your path and the difficulties that come with it.
My disciples are warriors of light. They have chosen the path of knowledge and only a braveheart can choose a difficult path.
Obviously, treading on a difficult road ahead will tire you. You will be tempted to quit. Quitting is never a solution. The antidote to fatigue is energy and it comes from the Guru.
When you are fatigued you should plan to see the Guru. In those few moments when the Guru and the disciple sit across each other something magical transpires. The energy of the Guru permeates the entire being of the disciple and he is at peace. That feeling of peace only a Guru can provide. And, to a Guru, the disciple is his biggest strength, his wealth. Meeting with the disciples energise the Guru as well. In fact, the Guru and the disciple live in each other’s heart and when they meet they are complete.
Such is the life that there will be happy and sad moments. You should forego bitter memories. Instead, work on your happiness. Stick around with people who inspire you. Set your priorities right. Rather than brooding over unhappy events, you should divert your energy to work.
Your goals will start translating into reality. There is one life. And, you should seek more out of it. No one is worth your time and attention if they do not reciprocate your kindness. Rather than wallowing over them you should look ahead. You are a magnificent human being. The gods are with you. The Guru is with you. Set destinations for yourself. Achieve them. Then, move on to the next ones.
And, when you are tired or when you start questioning the ‘why’s’ of your journey then the only person who has answers to your queries is the Guru. See him. Ask him. Absorb his wisdom. Apply his knowledge. Suddenly, your cobwebs of delusion will disappear. You have TRANSFORMED yourself by the grace of your Guru.
I sincerely urge you to safeguard the beauty of your soul. You are pristine. In you shines the divine light. There will be many who will try to influence you. Resist them. Remain the way you are. There is no need to change yourself to fit into other’s expectations. You should remain true to yourself. Always remember, “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
We are in a unique relationship which is difficult for the materialistic world to comprehend. I am committed to helping you unleash the energy lying dormant inside you. The moment that Kundalini energy – Shakti element begins its upward travel you will start feeling restless. The enormity of that energy will startle you. You need to channelise it by awakening the Shiva element within you. Direct it at work and you are way ahead of your competitors. This energy is the fountain of youth. It will remove your mental and physical fatigue.
As the year winds up, I invite all of you to Arogyadham in Delhi. Throughout the year, you keep inviting me to your place for the Shivirs. The year-end Shivir is mine. I am inviting you to participate in the Shiv Saharsraar Mahadeeksha at Arogyadham on 29th and 30th December. I look forward to seeing you there. Are you coming?
My blessings are always with you.
May you awaken the dormant energy lying within you
May you attain infinite happiness and equipoise
Stay happy always
