कर्म और फल सिद्धान्त (The Principle of Karma and its Results)
Does one receive the results of his Karmas?
The Principle of Karma and its Results
Current karma, Kriymaan karma, Accumulated karma and Destined Karma
Karma is Certain
Of all the powers which man has connection with, the power of the Karma is the strongest.
It is the eternal truth that Everything flows through Karma.
The following questions arise in every human mind :
- Is it necessary for me to take action?
- What type of action should I take?
- What should be the direction of my deeds?
- When and How will I receive the results of my deeds?
These four questions create the basis for this whole creation, and these questions emerge repeatedly. It is divine truth that a person has to perform a Karma (Deed). The Karma gets you to perform the deed, even if you don’t wish to. Nobody can stay action-less passive in this world. There is not a single action-less moment.
Let us analyze a page from the history. A huge gathering was taking place. Many scholars had come from afar. Everyone of those scholar was an accomplished expert in his own field, in his country. There were thousands of followers and millions of fans of each scholar. Every scholar had completed a detailed study of their texts. Each scholar would make his speech on the stage, and the audience would cheer his speech in their hundreds. Every scholar was full on pride on his knowledge, research & scholarship; and this pride was plainly visible on their faces. Everyone was emphatically putting forth his points and arguments. Everyone was praising their own religion, their texts and their knowledge. It seemed that this was the best opportunity to prove oneself as the best. Everyone had been given a definite time-slot for their speech.
A turban wearing person clad in simple ochre robes was quietly peacefully sitting among them. He was lost in his own thoughts. It seemed that he was in deep meditation. Sometimes a slight smile escaped his lips. It seemed that he was happily thinking about his Guru, his thoughts and his goals.
Suddenly this person’s name was called out from the stage, and the young man calmly got up. He walked slowly and seriously to the stage. He looked around quiet calmly without any evidence of any curiosity, agitation, anxiety or pride. He greeted the chairman upon reaching the stage, and looking at the audience, greeted them thus – “My brothers and sisters”, and started his speech. He did not have any paper, letters or notes for reference. He started his speech facing the audience. He had been allocated ten minutes for his speech, and when the speech started, it seemed that the time had stopped. The entire audience got lost in the mellow strong voice. Even the chairman forgot to ring the time-alarm and the flow of wisdom continued for one and a half hour. At the completion of the speech, the entire audience along with the distinguished dignitaries stood up and applauded with resounding claps for full ten minutes. This conference was – The World Parliament of Religions and the date was September 11, 1893…
The youth was “Vivekananda” and Vivekananda said – “My strength is my knowledge about my own self. It pervades the entire universe in the form of Providence. This same form-formless nature of God-realization is contained within my soul. I have made my small speech using the same sense of self-realization.”
This force, which is known as self-realization, is the greatest power. It is the biggest force which motivates us to act. This makes us drive our world. It determines our mental psyche. The Indian philosophy clearly states that within this universe, man is the entity having unlimited power. The human is the most dynamic and adaptable entity in the universe. What is the religion? Obtaining the immortality of the soul through actions and to determine the deeds on his own. The Indian Philosophy is very clear that the ultimate power called Divinity is within each organism. The cycle of birth and death of each organism, each human continues until salvation.
Each man lives his Karma cycle in four stages-
- Present Karmas
- Kriyamaan Karmas
- Accumulated Karmas
- Destined Karmas
The root foundation of the Indian culture, philosophy and religion is that the person should attain salvation by transitioning through these four Karmas in the birth-death cycles.
What is happening today?
The entire world is working towards development and progress. Every person is running in a race to prove his superiority. There is competition everywhere for knowledge, amenities, family and society within the civilization. Everyone wants to belittle others to prove his superiority. It has become necessary these days to belittle others to elevate himself. The infinite net of desires has trapped the person from all sides, and he is tightly enveloped within this net. The fulfilment of desires seems to be main goal of everyone. The peace has drifted away from the life.
In the present age, everyone has illusions of superiority due to wealth, strength, luxury and amenities. Joining this race has turned him into a toy of his own existence, which starts running by pressing of a button. He himself doesn’t know whether the end-result of this running will be progress or degradation, since he has wandered away from the noble ethics.
Awaken your Self-realization –
The sole reason of this sorry state of affairs is – Absence of self-realization. The desires enhance in absence of self-realization. The possibilities in life become nightmares. He is always full of worry. His self-confidence begins to decline. He is always envious of enhancement of beauty-strength, luxury or amenities of his peers. He gets scared about poverty. He gets worried about his relatives becoming more richer than him. All of these mental thoughts increase negativity in his psychology. A strange process starts, the cycle of time becomes so influential that the very target at which he ought to have become satiated, that target itself vanishes.
You yourself are part of a Divine power –
How to realize your own self, in such situations, how to recognize the self itself? It is very important to consider this point. Our Indian philosophy clearly talks about a Time-entity, which constitutes the entire infinite universe. Every religion and community of this world believes the presence of God in the entire nature and world. However, the Indian culture is based on the eternal universal time-entity (Kaal-Purush), which contains everything. Every organism of this nature, the entire flora and fauna are little power centres of the conscious Kaal-Purush. This Shakti power is termed as wisdom when it is wrapped within a specific form within a safety circle, and it merges with the Divine power when the organism leaves the current form.
The Shakti power is ineffective without Karma
The dynamic divine power within the organisms pushes the creature to start doing actions for his development and growth. This Shakti power is useless in the absence of actions, and this Karma-cycle continues eternally.
This Karma cycle continues in the similar fashion as Day-Night, throughout the Fortnight-Month-Year-Decade-Century-Era. We have classified them into Current Karmas, Kriyamaan Karmas, Accumulated Karmas and Destined Karmas.
Do not Wander away from Karma actions
The pace and effects of the Karmas cannot stop just like the Karmas cannot stop. Karma is never destroyed. Karma is never generated. It continues constantly dynamically throughout the birth-death to death-birth to new birth-death and so on. God has been termed Kaal-Purush because He constantly witnesses all our Karmas. He does not interfere in any of our Karma deeds. Comprehension of this Karma-cycle can help us to convert our present Karmas into excellence only and only through self-realization. Stop for a while… Think… and try to see, hear and understand the pace of this Kaal-Purush. And excel in your Karma-cycle by aligning your Karma-cycle with the time-cycle through the dynamism of Kaal-purush.

Remember, what did Shree Krishna advise Arjuna? Hey! Arjun, Nobody can survive in this world for even a single second without performing any Karma. The Divine natural rule enjoins a person to perform Karma.
So we keep on performing karma (actions), whether we wish to or not. Then why not perform Karmas with good noble intentions.
You are the centre of power –
The Karma Shakti power is the strongest power of all the powers with which a human being is associated with, and it deeply influences the personality of the person. The person is like a centre which attracts-pulls all the universal energies towards him, and then sends out these energy waves after merging all of these energy components. This centre is the “Prakrat Manav” (soul). It is omnipotent and omniscient, and draws the entire world towards itself.
Whatever activities we see in the world, whatever society dynamics we operate within, whatever is happening all around us, it is all a play of the mind, it is the manifestation of the human will. The will-power rises from the character of the individual and the character is created by his karma deeds. So the will-power develops according to his or her Karmas. All the great personalities in the world have been strong action focused persons. They were able to change the world order through their strong will-power, and they obtained this strong determination by performing Karmas throughout various eras. We cannot term it as a genetic energy transfer.
Karma is the basic truth –
Everything is regulated by karma. It is an eternal rule that a man does not acquire an object, until he makes efforts to obtain it. We may accumulate a number of physical objects to fulfil our desires, but in reality we procure only what we obtain through our Karma deeds. What do we deserve, what can we imbibe within ourselves, all of it is dictated only through the Karmas. Only we ourselves are responsible for our present situation, and only we have the power to become whatever we wish to become. If our current situation is the result of our past Karmas, then it is certain that our current Karmas will dictate our future. Therefore, it is necessary to understand what type of Karmas we should perform. The primary goal of each Karma is to – activate the dormant mental energy, and to awaken the soul.
Our first duty is to ensure that we do not hate ourselves. It is vital for future progress to have faith in ourself and in God. One who lacks faith in self, can never have faith in God.
It is the duty of every person to mould his life according to his ideal. He should not use anyone else’s ideal to shape his own life. It might be possible that he will never gain the required capability to assimilate someone else’s ideal. Everyone is different, no two men or women have same mind, abilities or powers. So everyone’s ideal should be different, and no one has right to mock anyone else’s ideal. Let a person exert as much effort as possible, to obtain his ideal. It is not proper to evaluate anyone with some other’s ideal.
