Dialog with loved ones …
Dear Loved one,
Today I am penning some thoughts on mind –
It is more difficult to learn to stay silent than to speak; when we speak, all of our energy flows outwards; but when we remain silent or listen, then certainly the energies of our inner thought intensify. It is much more difficult to remain silent for two hours rather than speaking for two hours. You try and check it yourself, watch your inner-self by staying quiet, silently listen to the voice of your conscience, listen to others but without exhibiting any reaction.
At this point, we should study the relation and effect of two words – the first word is reaction (quick, immediate response that occurred involuntarily) and the second word is response (reply given after considerable thinking, thoughts, understanding and foresight). When we exhibit reaction, then generally we demonstrate animalistic (demonic) instincts, while during response, we act sensibly (like the Gods and warriors). Become responsible.
Our mind is the world’s largest filter which automatically assimilates the finest thoughts and throws out the coarse thoughts; but it is necessary to stay silent for this. When we listen silently, then all your nerves, pores, eyes, skin, ears, all senses get active and we make thoughtful decisions after examining the justifications, benefit-cost analysis, possible future impact and implications of the said issue; and you combine all your imbibed energies to arrive at a well thought of decision. Speak only as much as is required, and choose your words very carefully. The effect of the word-arrow is highly acute, so do not try to injure anyone with your words. You should utilize your energies towards your own self development.
What work do you perform? What is your goal? This is not important, rather the method and processes you used to achieve that goal is much more significant. Hence instead of the tool, the practical application is more important, i.e. the activities of the process are highly significant. This process is the bridge between you and your goal. You should obtain joy during the process. Why do most people appear desperate, frustrated and sad in life? The only reason is that they do not obtain any joy in their work processes and activities. If you do not rejoice during your actions, then will you be happy even if you achieve your aims. We have to reach our goal, but we should also enjoy and savor every moment of our efforts strived towards achieving that goal. Even a simple act of breathing should be done delightfully; however if you coerce yourself forcefully, then this joy will disappear from your life. You have to perform all the activities, and you should pour in joyfulness element into the process, the method, and the tasks. If you perform all tasks cheerfully, then the work will automatically get accomplished jubilantly.
Your faith is your own asset (property), it is your most valuable possession, which you have imbibed in your mind. You were not born with this faith, and nobody has forced you to have faith. Trust is a very lovely feeling, which originates from very deep recesses of the heart and mind.
You know that this faith is more valuable than the duty, this is a priceless emotion. Take care of it at all times, preserve it cautiously. If your faith breaks due to someone’s opinion, or due to listening or seeing something, then this trust is very delicate. Such a moment can be very frightening. Your mind can get completely shattered on that day, and nothing will remain. Just as the inner-voice is completely private and cannot be overheard by anyone else, similarly, the sound of broken faith is also completely private, and it is possible that you may get completely crushed at such a moment. This life should not get devastated, and so preservation and maintenance of faith is the elixir of life.
Faith has immense powers, there is no burden in faith, rather faith leads to clarity in mind, and reduces the load on mind. Faith is your personal sense, it accompanies you wherever you go. It will always stay with you. It is a very sweet sensation.
You body may get tired, obstacles may arise, but the faith never gets exhausted. It supplements and supports the body and the mind. Only the faith can extract you from the trenches of obstacles towards the joyous lake of nectar.
Do you remember when you were alone? You were alone when this faith was not with you. Now you are not alone, wherever you go, whatever you do, this faith will accompany you. This conviction is your own image, it is a reflection of your own self, and this reflection is so resilient that nothing can damage it. You have adorned it from your feelings of each moment, decorated it, you have embellished it in full grandeur on a golden throne within the center of your mind. Your real ecstasy surrounds this trust. The most joyous sensation is this – the feeling of faith.
Shraddhawaan Labhate Gyanam – The real value, the Providence resides in the faith.
You keep on waiting for the opportune time, keep expecting it, but the strange fact is that that time never arrives. Whatever you are so impatient for, that time is running continuously in front of you. Neither impatience, nor endless wait; rather you just need to catch the current moment urgently. You have to bring it under your control, at this very moment.
Those who keep waiting for the opportune time, time doesn’t accord them any value. The “Time” also thinks that this person is waiting for my arrival, why do I go to him? And those who immediately clasp the time, catch the moment, the time becomes their slave.
You can perform any task in the life, fulfill any desire, wish or aspiration at any time, there is no relevance of power or age. The strength of a five-year-old child is similar to a person of sixty years age. The only difference is of enthusiasm. A child is always full of excitement and the elderly is full of indolence. I have seen many young people sitting idle waiting for the opportune time and their favourable time never comes. Because they lack enthusiastic drive; the joy has to come wherever the passionate excitement is.
Therefore, whatever you have decided, do not look for excuse in the form of age or so-called social conformance, do not throw yourself in an illusion. Always remember that the time is short and you have to accomplish many desirous tasks. Then what are you waiting for? Who will come to command you? Who will coerce you, force you, or push you? Who will enlighten you? No-one, you just need to catch the current moment and utilize it. Whatever you do, do it full-fledged enthusiasm.
Navraatri is arriving, Diwali is arriving. Celebrate these festivals with full enthusiasm and gusto. You will not get this feeling of celebration, excitement and rejoicing elsewhere, these passions of celebration, the emotions of excitement, the sensations of joy are all residing within you yourself. You have strongly suppressed it.
You have suppressed your original sensations of excitement in this mock seriousness of your mind. Open this mind, free it. Let this excitement come out, let this enthusiasm fill each and every pore of your-self. This passion will certainly transform you. Your oldness will disappear, when the smile enters your mind, it will also surely appear on your face.
