Dialog with Loved Ones …
Dear Loved One,
SadGurudev used to frequently quote a verse from the Upanishads – PoornamadaH Poornamidam … Have you ever comprehended true meaning of this verse?
You continue to make wishes and desires to achieve completeness, and you make steady and continuous efforts to accomplish them … however you should realize that you are perfect, elevate your mind above your inner desires, and comprehend your true nature, which in itself is perfect and satiated. You should understand that your mind-brain has tricked you into a illusion of cowardice in your life. Where as in reality, you are Perfect; you ought to control your mind and continuously infuse and imbibe pleasant positive thoughts into it.
You know how to behave and conduct in this world. Follow a simple principle. Lead your life like a river, the river never flows backwards towards the mountains, so forget about your past and set goals for the future; and continue to progress forward. You have to mould into a positive personality and this is not a tough job to do.
I recently visited Benaras, and prior to that I accomplished Jyotirling Sadhana in Somanth, Nageshwar in Daarukeshwar region and Veidyanath. Accomplished Nikhil Jayanti with all of you in Varanasi, and then returned back to Varanasi after three days. I visited Saarnath there. Saarnath is that holy spot where Lord Buddha gave his debut sermon after realizing Bodhitsav and Aatma-gyan (Self-Knowledge). He lived all alone in the Sadhana period before that. Do you know how many disciples Buddha had when he disseminated his knowledge? Just five disciples only – the names of these five dedicated disciples were Kaundna, Bhadrak, Wapa, Mahamana and Asaji. He preached Buddham Sharanam Gachchami, Dhammam Sharanam Gachchami, Sangham Sharanam Gachchami … under a tree to these five disciples, and these five disciples spread this knowledge of Buddha throughout India. The enlightened knowledge of Buddha did not expand only through Buddha. His enlightenment expanded through the five dedicated disciples. Shankaracharya also had four disciple – Padmapaad, Hastamalak, Sureshwar and Traatak. The Sanatan religion spread throughout India through these disciples. He eradicated widespread misconceptions about Tantra. This could be possible only through dedicated disciples.
The knowledge of the Guru, the enlightenment of the Guru does not circulate through Guru’s speech. The disciple becomes a medium, and such disciples are needed who are full of PoornmadaH feelings. Should be full of dedication. Such disciples can bring in revolution in the world. They can circulate Nikhil Gyaan (knowledge). To achieve this, working with full dedication is more important that self-promotion.
The day the disciple understands that –
Gurvaagya Paalnarth Hi Praan Vyaye RatodhataH |
Vihatya Cha Svakaaryaani GuruH Kaarya RataH Sadaa |
Aagyaakaari GuroH Shishyo Manovaakkaye LarmabhiH |
Yo Bhavetsa Tadaa Grahyo NetaraH Shubhkaankshyaa |
The Guru’s tasks are more important than my own personal tasks. I ought to neglect my tasks to perform Guru’s tasks because Guru’s vision is vast and boundless. I do not have to perform tasks only for my home and family. Even if I have to risk my life for Guru Gyaan, I shall gladly take the risk, because this life has been gifted by Guru, and this life is completely dedicated to Guru. Dedication means accomplishing the tasks, for which Guru underwent extremely difficult austerities, to obtain the knowledge. This Guru enlightenment should be disseminated through full consciousness after achieving complete understanding of knowledge-enlightenment and attaining perfect wisdom instead of blind devotion or blind faith. This attests the disciple’s disciple-hood. Obviously such disciples are not too many. Such disciples number only 10-20-50. Such disciple’s propagate Guru’s name and Guru’s knowledge.
I have written an article this time describing the attributes of a disciple, you must read it again and again. A disciple has three qualities – which I term as Brahma attribute, Vishnu attribute and Shiva attribute. These three qualities are – alertness, dedication and patience. You should continue to evaluate yourself in the Divine light of Guru consciousness. Do not let defects sprout within you. Do not let worry surface up on the mind. If a worry manages to reach the mind, then command your mind thus – Hey mind! you are very clever, you wish to enslave me, so you desire to shake me from within through these worries. Make a firm determination to never let worry enter the mind.
Your psyche is completely pure, this psyche is your real wealth, it is your real nature. The mind has covered it with a layer, and you consider this mind as your real nature, therefore your mind is always restless, it does not get concentrated. Put this mind under the control of your psyche, and this psyche is directly connected to Guru. Therefore you pray thus – O Gurudeva!
Tvam Chitte Mam Chitte,
Tvam Praan Mam Praan,
Tvam Chintaye Mam Chintaye,
Tvam Aagya Sajeewan ParipaalayaH
Merge your psyche with the psyche of your Guru, the phyche will attain cool calm peace, which will also quest the wishes of your mind, and fulfil your material desires. Comprehend this fact clearly.
You also perform tasks in this world and Guru also performs tasks in this physical world. Your actions are for “self” while Guru’s actions are for “Sad(all)”. Hence Guru has been called SadGuru.
Join yourself with each action of SadGuru… Your soul has been connected to Him for many multiple births, and this relationship will endure in future. Comprehend these divine relationships and create soulful spiritual relationships with Guru.
Be happy in every situation, be joyful in every circumstance, Shiva is with you, Guru is with you.
We shall meet on Guru Poornima at Haridwar. Have many thoughts to say and many topics to listen to, I am as impatient to meet you, as you are eager to meet me. Come certainly with your whole family.
